Choosing + using oils
Where should I start if I am new to carrier oils?+
Start with where you want to use the oil and how light or rich you want it to feel. Apricot Kernel Oil and Golden Jojoba Oil are versatile first choices. For a more personal starting point, use the guided oil finder.
What is the difference between a carrier oil and an essential oil?+
Carrier oils come from the fatty portions of plants, such as seeds, nuts, and kernels. They can be used on their own or as a base for carefully diluted essential oils. Essential oils are concentrated aromatic extracts and generally require dilution before topical use.
Can I use one carrier oil on my face, hair, and body?+
Many single-ingredient oils are versatile enough for more than one routine. The amount and texture matter: begin with one or two drops on face or hair ends and use more for body or massage. Check the individual oil page for its best-fit routines.
How much oil should I use?+
Start small. For face or hair ends, begin with one to three drops and add only if needed. For body care or massage, dispense a small amount into your palm, warm it between your hands, and build gradually.
Should I patch test first?+
Yes—especially if your skin is reactive or the oil is new to you. Apply a small amount to a limited area and wait before broader use. Stop use if irritation occurs.
How should I store my oil?+
Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Use clean, dry hands or the supplied dispenser to reduce contamination.
How long should an opened oil last?+
As a general guide, Bella Terra recommends replacing an opened carrier oil within two years when it has been stored properly. Always check the product’s odor, color, and texture and follow any product-specific directions.
Sizes + packaging
Which bottle sizes are glass or plastic?+
The 2 oz and 4 oz sizes use amber glass. The 8 oz, 16 oz, 32 oz, and 128 oz gallon sizes use BPA-free plastic. Larger BPA-free formats are lighter, more shatter-resistant, and easier to handle and store than heavy glass.
What does BPA-free plastic mean?+
BPA-free means the packaging is made without bisphenol A. We use BPA-free packaging for our larger oil sizes because it combines practical handling with a lighter, shatter-resistant container.
Which sizes include pumps or droppers?+
The 2 oz and 4 oz bottles include both a pump and a dropper. The 8 oz and 16 oz bottles include a pump and a snap cap. The 32 oz bottle does not include a pump. Gallon pumps are offered as an option where shown.
Why include both a pump and a dropper with smaller bottles?+
Different routines call for different control. A dropper makes it easy to count a few drops, while a pump can feel cleaner and faster for everyday use. You can choose the dispenser that works best for you.
Where are Bella Terra Oils products bottled?+
Bella Terra Oils carefully bottles its oils in Oregon. We are a family-owned, veteran-owned business based in the Ashland community.
Where does each oil come from?+
Country of origin varies by oil and is listed on the individual product page. We work with established suppliers and responsible farms to support quality and consistency.
Orders + shipping
When will my order ship?+
Most orders are prepared within one to two business days. When your order leaves, Shopify sends tracking details to the email or phone number used at checkout.
How do I track my order?+
Open the shipping confirmation from Bella Terra Oils and use the tracking link inside it. If the link has not updated after the carrier receives the package, contact us with your order number.
Do you offer free shipping?+
Yes. Bella Terra offers free standard US shipping on qualifying orders of $50 or more. International shipping is calculated at checkout when available.
Can I change or cancel an order?+
Contact us as soon as possible with your order number. We will help when we can, but an order that has already entered fulfillment or shipped may no longer be editable.
What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?+
Please send us a message with the order number, a description of what arrived, and clear photos of the product and shipping package. We will review it and help with the next step.
Returns + guarantee
What is the Bella Terra return policy?+
Bella Terra accepts returns for 60 days with free return shipping, no restocking fee, and no final-sale items. Contact customer service to start a return or ask for help finding a better fit.
How do I start a return or exchange?+
Use the contact form and select “Return or exchange.” Include your order number and explain what was not a fit. Our team will review the request and provide the appropriate instructions.
Subscriptions
Can I subscribe and save?+
Eligible products offer subscribe-and-save with 10% savings. Choose the subscription option on the product page, then select the delivery timing that fits your routine.
How do I manage or cancel a subscription?+
Use the subscription-management link associated with your order or customer account. If you cannot find it, contact us using the same email address as the subscription.
Wholesale + professional use
Can businesses buy Bella Terra Oils in bulk?+
Yes. Makers, estheticians, massage therapists, salons, studios, and growing brands can shop visible gallon pricing and available refill sizes without waiting for a quote.
Do I need a wholesale account to see gallon prices?+
No. Standard gallon pricing is visible on the wholesale collection so you can compare and buy directly. For a product or quantity question, use the contact form.
Can the oil finder help with a formula?+
The oil finder can narrow oils by texture and intended cosmetic use, which is helpful at the early comparison stage. It is not a substitute for stability, compatibility, safety, or regulatory testing of a finished formula.
